Billable weight

Billable weight calculator

Calculate the dimensional and billable weight of your shipment instantly using our online billable weight calculator.

When a parcel is transported, its actual weight (measured on a scale) and the amount of space it takes up (its volume) each play an important role in determining what it will cost to get it to its destination. The volume can also be expressed as the parcel’s dimensional or volumetric weight.

The freight forwarder will consider the actual weight and the dimensional weight of your parcel and charge you for whichever is higher. The higher figure is therefore called the chargeable or billable weight.

To use this billable weight calculator you will need the following information:

  1. Your parcel’s dimensions in centimeters (cm) – this includes length, breadth and width.
  2. Your parcel’s weight in kilograms (kg).
  3. The conversion factor used by your courier or freight company. You can confirm this number with them if you are not sure. A factor of 5000 is most commonly used.

Complete the appropriate fields using the above information to calculate the billable weight of your shipment.

  • Type in your pacakage dimensions in centimeter (cm)
  • Please enter a number greater than or equal to 0.
