Question 1: Provide a brief overview of your offerings and company background
Lanseria Flight Centre is an internationally recognised flight school and aviation training organisation, offering flight training to pilots all over the world. We also import aircraft parts from all over the world for our aircraft fleet and purchase aircrafts for renovation.
Question 2: Which countries do you export to or import from?
We import and export mostly between America, Africa and the UK.
Question 3: When did you realize your business was ready for exporting/importing? What were the key indicators?
Because our fleet of aircrafts are American-built, we had to start importing these. Our fleet is mostly made up of Cessna C172s, and all the parts for these aircrafts need to be imported if we cannot source them locally.
Question 4: Can you share some tips for finding and researching international markets for export, or international suppliers for import? Where did you find your best leads?
We found that doing an internet search was the best source for finding markets and leads.
Question 5: What was your biggest initial fear or concern about exporting/importing, and how did you address it?
Our biggest concern with exporting/importing was making sure that where we buy from is not a scam and that the parts are genuine. We try to buy from companies who are reputable with decent backgrounds and referrals.
Question 6: Reflecting on your experience, are there any aspects you would approach differently now?
No, there isn’t anything that I know of that we would approach differently.
Question 7: Did you encounter any unexpected obstacles, and how did you adapt?
Not really ImportExportLicense assisted us greatly and made our registration for import/export easy.
Question 8: Did you attend trade shows or participate in international business development programs? If so, can you mention any that were helpful?
No
